3D Rendering
This conceptual rendering imagines the future of downtown Smithtown, NY as an attractive, pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use central business district. The view is looking east down Main Street from Town Hall. This image appears on the cover of the final volume of Smithtown's Comprehensive Plan, and has been featured in The Smithtown News. I created this work using SketchUp 2015, with elements created in Adobe Photoshop, and components available from 3D Warehouse.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Below is a sample of recent maps I have produced using ArcGIS. I pride myself in my ability to combine multiple layers of complex spatial information in uncluttered maps that are clear, concise, and visually appealing. Using my background in graphic design, my cartographic style is characterized by simplicity and a clear visual hierarchy. I design maps with the intended audience and use in mind, including color-safe maps for the colorblind. The maps below range from data visualization to complex spatial analysis. Some of these maps are featured in the Land Use Inventory of Smithtown’s Comprehensive Plan, while others were created for the Smithtown Planning Board.
Presentation Excerpts
Below are excerpts from presentations I have given to various audiences. In addition to presentations to local Boards, I have been asked to prepare and deliver presentations to high school students, university students, and professional organizations at conferences and meetings. I pride myself in delivering effective presentations that are both engaging and visually appealing.

Graphic Design - URBAN Magazine
I created these excerpts from Columbia University's URBAN Magazine using Adobe Creative Suite. As layout editor, I designed each page, and created many of the graphics used to illustrate planning concepts. Inspired by the Art Deco masthead of from earlier versions of the publication, I created the magazine format and style from my own design. Below are two covers, and four examples of articles I contributed.
Graphic Design - Large Format Poster
I designed this large-format informational poster for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation using Adobe Illustrator. The challenge in this project was to convey a large amount of detailed information in a way that is easy-to-digest and visually appealing using three colors and two fonts in accordance with the company's style guide. This poster was used in Brooklyn Bridge Park in the Summer of 2011.
Photography
Below is a small sample of my recent photography. As a trained photographer, I love to explore natural and urban landscapes through the lens of the camera. I have received several awards for photography, and my photographs have appeared online in UntappedCities, and in local publications.
